The terminal, responds slowly in Ubuntu 18.04, when doing a fresh install from the ubuntu-18.04.1-live-server-amd64.iso on a VMware Workstation 15.
The system runs fine on a single NIC, but when I add an second NIC the terminal starts to hang. if I for example do:
sudo hostname test
Or any other command, in terminal I
have a 5 second delay, after the command. (this is not something that should happen, considering that the system has 1/4 C/VC CPU and 8 Gb of RAM.)
My solution, to this was:
Solution
Install Ubuntu 17.10
Then do a system upgrade:
sudo su
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y && apt-get dist-upgrade -y
after the system is updated, do a release update:
sudo su
do-release-upgrade
And the system runs fine, whit two NIC's
I also noticed, that the disk usage was about 3% higher on the clean install of Ubuntu 18.10.
So my question is:
Why do i have to install Ubuntu 17.10, and upgrade for this to work?
