So, this might've been asked before, but I can't find any clear answers, so here goes.

I have a dual-boot setup, with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.10. Both partitions are about the same size. However, the Ubuntu partition is far from full, and I'm running out of space in Windows, so I want to shrink the Ubuntu partition, and expand the Windows partition. How do I go about doing that.

Also, I have almost no experience with gparted or anything of the sort.

  • Resize your Ubuntu partition with a live CD/USB to make it smaller. Move partitions (except Windows partitions) to make the extra space appear before or after the Windows partition to expand. Boot into Windows and resize your Windows partition to take up the excess space.
