autofs needs to be restated after every reboot

I think I'm running into this bug. I have tried all of the solutions listed but no actual resolution to the bug. The rc.local solution seems to work only sometimes and has problems with starting up multiple instances of autofs which causes problems for the service itself. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this or even how to debug on what might be causing this issue?
