I have an old Photosmart C4500 and I would like to print a pdf from Ubuntu 18.10, yet it seems there is a problem with the driver as far as it seems to be stuck processing :

enter image description here

I already tried to delete and reinstall it, but it remained the same.

I tried to follow DebuggingPrintingProblems wiki.

2. I tried checked if the USB kernel modules are loaded:

mike@mike-thinks:~/Documents/concours$ lsmod | grep usb
usblp 20480 0
usb_storage 69632 1 uas
btusb 45056 0
btrtl 16384 1 btusb
btbcm 16384 1 btusb
btintel 20480 1 btusb
bluetooth 548864 31 btrtl,btintel,btbcm,bnep,btusb,rfcomm
rtsx_usb_ms 20480 0
memstick 16384 1 rtsx_usb_ms
rtsx_usb_sdmmc 28672 0
rtsx_usb 20480 2 rtsx_usb_sdmmc,rtsx_usb_ms

but I don't know from this.

2. I unplugged the USB printer cable from your computer and enter this command: and then replugged it.

I have an old Photosmart C4500 and I would like to print a pdf from Ubuntu 18.10, yet it seems there is a problem with the driver as far as it seems to be stuck processing :

      enter image description here

I already tried to delete and reinstall it, but it remained the same.

I tried to follow DebuggingPrintingProblems wiki.

      2. I tried checked if the USB kernel modules are loaded:

      mike@mike-thinks:~/Documents/concours$ lsmod | grep usb
      usblp 20480 0
      usb_storage 69632 1 uas
      btusb 45056 0
      btrtl 16384 1 btusb
      btbcm 16384 1 btusb
      btintel 20480 1 btusb
      bluetooth 548864 31 btrtl,btintel,btbcm,bnep,btusb,rfcomm
      rtsx_usb_ms 20480 0
      memstick 16384 1 rtsx_usb_ms
      rtsx_usb_sdmmc 28672 0
      rtsx_usb 20480 2 rtsx_usb_sdmmc,rtsx_usb_ms

but I don't know from this.

      2. I unplugged the USB printer cable from your computer and enter this command: and then replugged it.

      6. Then I checked whether the printer gets correctly detected by the USB subsystem and determine its USB vendor/product IDs and the USB bus and device addresses:

      `mike@mike-thinks:~/Documents/concours$ lsusb`
      `Bus 002 Device 005: ID 03f0:6b11 Hewlett-Packard Photosmart C4500 series`
      crw-rw---- 1 root lp 180, 0 nov. 14 00:42 /dev/usb/lp0

      8. Determine the printer's device ID strings:

      mike@mike-thinks:~/Documents/concours$ sudo usb_printerid /dev/usb/lp0
      [sudo] password for mike:
      Sorry, try again.
      [sudo] password for mike:
      GET_DEVICE_ID string:
      MFG:HP;MDL:Photosmart C4500 series;CMD:MLC,PCL,PML,DW-PCL,DESKJET,DYN;1284.4DL:4d,4e,1;CLS:PRINTER;DES:Q8408A;LEDMDIS:DOT4#44;SN:CN88QD3250059H;S:038000C484001021002c180005ac2880028;J: ;Z:0102,0503f169014dc9,0600,0c0,0e00000000,0f00000000,10000000000000,12000,143,150;

      10. Find out if your printer gets detected by CUPS

      mike@mike-thinks:~/Documents/concours$ lpinfo -v
      file cups-brf:/
      network lpd
      network ipps
      network https
      network http
      direct hp:/usb/Photosmart_C4500_series?serial=CN88QD3250059H
      serial serial:/dev/ttyS4?baud=115200
      network ipp
      direct usb://HP/Photosmart%20C4500%20series?serial=CN88QD3250059H&interface=1
      network beh
      network socket
