I tried to play gmod on my virtual box ubuntu distro and it gave me this error "Could not find required OpenGl entry point 'glColorMaskIndexedEXT'! Either your video card is unsupported, or your OpoenGL driver needs to be updated."
Please help, very new to ubuntu and just wanted to test out games on it for future usage.

You will need to add some information, such as what distribution of Ubuntu you are running, and what type of virtual machine you are using.

  • By default, and typically without some pretty specific configuration, VM's do not inherit the host's graphics card. You're essentially trying to boot Gmod without one. The guides to accomplish this can be pretty complicated, it's much easier to just dual boot.

  • Hi, my ubuntu distro is Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS. and I'm using Oracle VM virtual box.

  • I don't know what dual boosting is but I would be willing to learn if you have any good guides I can go to if that's the only way I can play steam games
