Test selection not working on iPad after annotating a document (annotator / PDF.js)

}

Environment

  • iPad 6 (MR7F2FD/A iOS 12.1)

  • Safari (and chrome sometimes)

  • Annotatorjs : https://github.com/openannotation/annotator/

  • PDF.js : https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/

  • GoFAST Collaborative platform

Issue

After annotating a document, all the text in the entire page isn't selectable anymore unless you refresh the page.

What I've already tried (Using Safari development console on a mac to debug the iPad)

  • Check JS console : No errors

  • Check HTML differences before and after the annotation : No significant difference

  • Check CSS differences before and after the annotation : No significant difference

  • Check -webkit-user-select and user-select properties : OK

  • Remove all elements on the page (all headers, classes etc..) except html, body and then create a 'p' element with the text 'Test' in it : Still not selectable unless you refresh.

  • Try to reproduce using mobile dev tools on a computer : cannot reproduce

It seems like a very browser/OS related issue and I'm running out of ideas. :S
