Tensorboard is working but tensorflow throws import module error Ubuntu 16.04 server, conda 4.5.4, python 2.7
So, I installed tensorflow-gpu using pip in a conda virtual environment called tensorflow-gpu. I am using Python 2.7.14, Ubuntu 16.04 Server, Conda 4.5.4.
I have installed tensorflow correctly, and the paths to Conda bin, lib64, and to Cuda are set(nvcc -V works). The env is activated.(Verified by conda info --envs), and this env has the package tensorflow installed.(conda list -n tensorflow-gpu). Tensorboard can be imported, but importing tensorflow throws a module import error.
Python 2.7.14 |Anaconda custom (64-bit)| (default, Oct 16 2017, 17:29:19)
[GCC 7.2.0] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import tensorboard
>>> import tensorflow as tf
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
ImportError: No module named tensorflow
>>>
I find this very strange, and would appreciate assistance in debugging this, and if anyone has experienced something like this, advice would be welcome. Thanks.
