Unreliable network connection with Ubuntu 18.10

I presently have installed and configured many Ubuntu workstations and servers. All working flawlessly. Mostly Bionic and a few Cosmic. Unfortunately, my own laptop has one problem: networking.
I originally installed Cosmic, the installation was smooth and had no complaints. By default, Netplan is configured so I used that since it seems like the future of Ubuntu. All other installations went flawless. Then I noticed that every so often, my network stopped working. Wired and wireless.
On examination, I saw no obvious problem. All configuration files were in tact. No errors. But I just was unable to communicate with anyone on my network nor the Internet. I read as much as I could on Netplan before I decided that my config file was in order.
What I have tried: I've disabled, netplan and tried networkmanager, networkd, and even connman. All behave the same way. Besides that:
I always make sure that only one network service is active at a time in case you think that may be a problem.
If I reboot or manually configure my wifi, I can communicate for some time before I can't. Each time I have to restart the service if I'm lucky or reboot the laptop.
What I understood so far: The problem is not my laptop because if I reboot to any of my live flash drives, networking works perfectly.
Any suggestions as to how to make my network stable using netplan, networkmange, networkd or connman?
