Webpack worker-loader fails to compile using Angular 6
I have an Angular 6 application and I need to use web workers impleneted in Typescript. I have followed the instructions on https://github.com/webpack-contrib/worker-loader to set it up.
This is my worker in approximation-visualization.binomial-scatter.worker.ts
:
import * as math from 'mathjs';
self.addEventListener('message', function (e) {
postMessage((function (data) {
return {
result: {
scatter: createScatter(data),
density: createDensity(data),
stockValueRange: data.stockValueRange
},
calculationId: data.calculationId
};
}
)(e.data), undefined);
});
...
I have configured the loader in custom.d.ts
:
declare module 'worker-loader!*' {
class WebpackWorker extends Worker {
constructor();
}
export default WebpackWorker;
}
And it's included the following way:
import BinomialScatterCreationWorker from "worker-loader!./approximation-visualization.binomial-scatter.worker";
My problem is that ng serve yields that it failed to compile and nothing more.
...
chunk {runtime} runtime.js, runtime.js.map (runtime) 9.65 kB [entry] [rendered]
chunk {scripts} scripts.js, scripts.js.map (scripts) 273 kB [rendered]
chunk {stock-analysis-stock-analysis-module} stock-analysis-stock-analysis-module.js, stock-analysis-stock-analysis-module.js.map (stock-analysis-stock-analysis-module) 89.5 kB [rendered]
chunk {styles} styles.js, styles.js.map (styles) 642 kB [initial] [rendered]
chunk {vendor} vendor.js, vendor.js.map (vendor) 5.56 MB [initial] [rendered]
i 「wdm」: Failed to compile.
What could I have missed in the configuration? Is there a running example using Angular 6 for my use case?
