How to have parallel installations of Conda (w/ Python 3.7) and Python 3.7? [Ubuntu 18.04]

0

First, I had an existing installation of Python 3.7 that I use for most things via the Deadsnakes PPA here: https://launchpad.net/~deadsnakes/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

Then due to dependencies annoyances with machine learning, I installed Ananconda with Python 3.7. The installation included adding it to $PATH, of course. It worked great.

However, it seems that Anaconda has usurped my original Python installation's place in $PATH, which has created problems when I want to do non-Conda projects. python3.7 activates the Anaconda Python.

While I can remove the Conda entries from $PATH, and use my original installation, I then lose the ability to use the conda command.

Ideally I would be able to retain the conda command so I can create Anaconda virtual environments, and python for everything else.

Is there any way I can do that?
