No Volumes Displayed in Ubuntu Install
I can boot the live USB with 18.04, everything looks great in the “try” desktop. When I go to install, I get as far as the pane where the target volumes are normally displayed and nothing appears. It’s completely empty. Not one single thing listed.
The disk manager app also shows no awareness at all of the host computer’s disks. All it shows is the USB I’m operating from. I have tried every conceivable combination of formatting and nothing ever comes up. I have created an “Unallocated” space, I have created a partition formatted in exFAT, FAT32, NTFS, ext3, ext4, and nothing appears in any of these iterations. I have disabled safe boot in BIOS. I have tinkered with many different settings based on various tutorials I have seen. I have scoured this and other websites for answers and everything is either ineffective, 8 years old, or both. I’m going crazy! I just want to install Ubuntu and my computer seems to be dead set against it.
I am running a Dell XPS 9570.
Nice, and as I write this (on my phone), the screen just started to fritz out and it’s like a Max Headroom video now. I’m not trying to do anything too fancy here. It’s a brand new machine and I’m just trying to follow all of the steps to install this thing and I feel like I’m 4 years old.
