SSD upgrade: How to expand partition

0

EZGig IV transferred 16.04 to a larger SSD

cat /proc/partitions

returned:

major minor #blocks name

8 0 488386584 sda
8 1 480069371 sda1
8 5 8312352 sda5

After the new drive was installed in the PC, Gparted indicates sda1 is 457GB, however,

df -h

indicates a 213GB partition.

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /dev
tmpfs 792M 9.7M 782M 2% /run
/dev/sda1 213G 190G 12G 95% /
tmpfs 3.9G 39M 3.9G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock
tmpfs 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 792M 72K 791M 1% /run/user/1000

  • What is the procedure to complete the upgrade to 480GB?

  • Would I be better of re-performing the exercise with Clonezilla?

  • If yes,Does Clonezilla automagically resize the partition?
