Following on from this question, asked by someone else, over a year ago, I ran the suggested command in terminal sudo apt-get install rhythmbox-plugin-cdrecorder. In terminal it reports: rhythmbox-plugin-cdrecorder is already the newest version (3.4.2-4ubuntu1).

The problem is, I still have no means to burn a playlist by "right-clicking" the desired playlist. No menu options are presented, when right-clicking, in the far left menu. Right-click, merely acts like the left-click, to select and highlight the item. It doesn't provide the optional menu to "Create Audio CD" for a playlist, as outlined in this article.

The only option presented for burning, is when an external audio CD is detected under Devices. The "Duplicate Audio CD" button, then appears in the top toolbar, by clicking the CD. So I have no means to burn a CD from the created Playlists, from the left-hand menu.

I would like to burn the playlist I've spent a great deal of time, putting together in Rhythmbox, but I'm wondering if right-click on selected items in Rhythmbox, is even supported in Ubuntu 18.04 anymore? Perhaps a case of outdated information? I would appreciate real-time feedback, if others could right-click their selected Playlist in Rhythmbox, and see if the option to "Create Audio CD", still works for them in Ubuntu 18.04.

I actually migrated over to 18.04 from the 16.04 version, in hopes it would fix this particular issue. As it was happening in 16.04 too. If others could report their success at the right-click option to successfully burn a CD (in Rhythmbox) then it may be an issue with my PC's configuration? It's a new one, a refurbished Lenovo ThinkCentre M83, which passed testing previously, but only with Ubuntu version 14.04. I've had no problems running versions 16.04 and 18.04 on it, except for this recurring issue in Rhythmbox. It should be noted, that I installed Ubuntu over Windows, with a full format.

In case anyone asks, I've checked the Plugins in Rhythmbox too, and "Audio CD Recorder" is present and enabled. I await your valued feedback.

Edited: I've just discovered a workaround to bypass the "right-click" on Playlists - at least for Ubuntu version 18.04. Select the Playlist you want to burn a CD from, in the left-hand menu. Then go up to the top toolbar, and press Playlist, and a menu will drop down to "Create Audio CD". It would be easier to right-click the Playlist directly, but for some reason, the original instructions aren't working for me.

I'd still be interested to know, if others can successfully bring up the "Create Audio CD", just by right-clicking the playlist (left-hand menu) in Ubuntu 18.04.

I also wanted to note, I did a full format over Windows, with Ubuntu 16.04. Then upgraded to 18.04 through terminal. So I'm wondering if there's a configuration conflict between the two versions, causing the right-click not to work in Rhythmbox? 16.04 is Unity based, and 18.04 has converted back to GNOME, hasn't it.
