How can I stop the 1st tab content from showing before active hash is processed by the browser?

I was having some trouble getting the 'active' tab set from an external link. I c got some help & now it works, but I can't seem to figure out why the "Los Angeles" content is showing up before the script processes the hash value. It works on the stripped down test page, but not on the live site:

"Portland" is the active tab when following these links:

Live: https://stoneagefarmacy.com/marijuana-specials/#tabs_desc_10556_3

vs

Test: https://beta.stoneagefarmacy.com/test-tabs/#tabs_desc_7_3

Anyone able to see what's causing the live one to behave this way? Thanks.
