I am trying to implement the Oreo Static Icon Shortcuts in my project.The following is my shortcuts.xml file present in my project's xml directory. I have added the proper strings in the strings.xml resorce file. There are 2 shortcuts, one that takes the user to AboutActivity and another that takes the users to the ShareActivity.

I have also added the required metadata info in my apps LAUNCHER and MAIN activity in the Manifest.xml file. The following is the snippet of the Manifest file.

The app builds without any errors. I am able to install the app and the shortcuts appear as expected. However, clicking on the shortcuts doesn't launch the desired activity . What am I missing?
