Errors in VBA 2016
The below part of my VBA code works perfectly in Excel 2010 but shuts down Excel 2016 without even sending an error message. Please advise
Range("Z2:Z" & LastRow).Select
Selection.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlCellValue, Operator:=xlEqual, _
Formula1:="=""NEW EMPLOYEE"""
Selection.FormatConditions(Selection.FormatConditions.Count).SetFirstPriority
With Selection.FormatConditions(1).Interior
.PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic
.Color = 13408767
.TintAndShade = 0
End With
excel vba excel-vba

First I recommend to read and apply How to avoid using Select in Excel VBA. • Excel shutting down without message means it crashes. That is not a VBA error, that means it is a bug in Excel. Restart computer, update Windows, update Excel to the most current build version. If this doesn't help ask the Microsoft support.

Use the debugger to step through your code and find out exactly which of the above lines causes the error and add that info to your question

WhyFormula1:="=""NEW EMPLOYEE"""
instead of just using a string value?

You can always record it again in 2016, and see the difference.
