Unable to log in to Ubuntu 16.04, no permission to view xsession-errors
My Ubuntu is stuck in a login loop when trying to enter my desktop. When I login, the screen gets black and soon after that the login screen comes back.
do not have permissions for cat ~/.xsession-errors or sudo cat ~/.xsession-errors
$ sudo cat ~/.xsession-errors
Xsession: X session started for root
localuser:root being added to access control list
openConnection: connect: no such file or directory cannot connect to brltty at :0
I have Ubuntu 16.04
16GB free space is available
I have tried a few things
But this is what happens (first few seconds of the video)
16.04 login

Have you tried the solution given in the video and the link given there. Give more details of your disks. Is it dual boot.

@vijay where would I get more detail about my disks? I tried the methods but nothing worked. I do not have enough space for GDM. I also cannot check the xsession errors because no such file or directory
