ubuntu not booting up screen shows some text that dissapears after doing an upgrade from the terminal
I was using ubuntu 18.04 and during the process of trying to get tensorflow-cl to work with an amd gpu I tried also sudo apt-get upgrade
and things didn't seem to have an issue till I later shut down the pc and later on restarted it.
Now it gets stuck at this point.
I tried a number of things, using ubuntu recovery mode using dpkg to fix issues and when that failed from the root terminal I did this
sudo apt-get update
dpkg --configure -a
the final screen text changed possibly meaning it might have fixed one issue and raised another but the boot never finished.
Note
Ubuntu logging five dots starts before this screen info pops up, the message also seems to pop in and out showing the text then the screen goes blank and in about 3 seconds later the info pops back in disappears again in less than a seconds and this behavior then loops.
I don't think it's a hardware issue since I dual boot and windows is working fine and I didn't do anything in windows that could affect this, not changing system settings or installing any software.

boot grub2
