Instrumentation Test Set Up
I am working on adding Instrumentation Tests to an Android project, but unfortunately, this project was set up very poorly and for some reason doesn't have instrumentation test environment already set up.
I have looked everywhere around, including Android Docs (which are horrible), to figure out how to set it up, but I am continually presented how to write a test, not how to set up your project to run the tests from scratch.
My question is, in the case that there is no "AndroidTest" set up (including Gradle dependencies), what do I need to do to prepare my project for that?
Specifically, I'm looking for:
- What are all the required Gradle settings?
- What is the file structure? (I once attempted, as suggested, to create a "AndroidTest" folder, and then created a module similar to "com.." but when I attempted to build the test I got an error "com.. already exists error")
- Do I need to create a "TestApplication" class that extends Application like one tutorial I found was saying?
- etc.
