Any Video Crashes Ubuntu 18.04
This is a confusing situation, I am running Ubuntu 18.04 on a desktop, single installation, no Windows. About a dozen times now he system has crashed and loads to a initramfs busy box prompt and will not boot to Ubuntu even trying recovery mode.
The error is always something along the lines of there being no OS installed and even running dsck -f /dev/sda1 one with dozens of errors found or using the recommended settings on "boot-repair" do not solve the problem of Ubuntu not booting.
I always lose everything, even trying to restore from backups never work, after reinstalling Ubuntu 18.04 from the Live USB everything is always gone.
Ok and now the cause, this occurs, everytime, the first time, I view a DVD or any video file. I have tried installing the most up to date drivers for my Nvidia GeForce, I've tried installing the DVD libs and extras that I found in a tut. I also use VLC, and still, everytime I play any video or DVD the OS will crash and I will have to reinstall again.
I'm completely lost as to a cause and am hoping that you all might be able to help me figure out what exactly is happening, all of the articles I can find alike to my issue is with dual installations and not a single.
Thank You
(possibly related, during the boot I usually see an error about Platform Creation Failure, just before Ubuntu starts loading)
