Ubuntu 16.4 volume became read only, WordPress files can be seen will not open when moved/copied PLESK
I apologize for my ignorance. My husband was our webmaster he passed a short while ago leaving a web hosting division to run. We host less than 100 websites: this past week the websites began to go up and down, then stopped publishing all together. I asked my hard-drive/web specialist about this - he said it may have to do with a PLESK update. (he was receiving warning messages from the Web sever all week but thought is had to do with a Store App)
synopsis: The home volume on the web-server drive changed to read only. I believe this happens to prevent further issues with the drive. My Tech. decided to download the read only database to a Wind10 computer and in turn upload the files to PLESK on AWS. I didn't think this would work as Windows, I thought, would change the file structure, creating a bigger issues. It didn't work, PLESK states files do not exist. However he can see all of the files.
Second time around, tech downloaded the files and uploaded them this time directly to the virtual cloud server (he skipped Widows this time) The OS in the cloud is Ubuntu 16.04, same version and port and we currently use. The tech can see all the files including MySQL databases, however again, nothing will open. the same message from PLESK files do not exist.
These are all WordPress websites. The backup according to my tech., was done on the same drive. (I just found out) Any suggestions, on fixing the Home Volume or if that's even possible?
