Package pdftex.def Error: File `./xx-eps-converted-to.pdf' not found: using draft setting
I am using Aquamacs 3.4 GNU Emacs 25.3.50.1 on macOS 10.14.2. Recently I encounter an error while converting eps to pdf. The textstudio works fine but Aquamacs does not.
I have included the epstopdf package and specify the path with 'epstopdfsetup{outdir=./}'. However it does not help.
Parts of the log information is shown as
(/usr/local/texlive/2018/texmf-dist/tex/latex/amsfonts/umsb.fd
File: umsb.fd 2013/01/14 v3.01 AMS symbols B
)
Package epstopdf Info: Source file: <SteadyLM.eps>
(epstopdf) date: 2019-01-07 22:15:24
(epstopdf) size: 207970 bytes
(epstopdf) Output file: <./SteadyLM-eps-converted-to.pdf>
(epstopdf) Command: <repstopdf --outfile=./SteadyLM-eps-converted-t
o.pdf SteadyLM.eps>
(epstopdf) includegraphics on input line 70.
runsystem(repstopdf --outfile=./SteadyLM-eps-converted-to.pdf SteadyLM.eps)...e
xecuted safely (allowed).
Package epstopdf Info: Result file: <./SteadyLM-eps-converted-to.pdf>.
./CC2.tex:70: Package pdftex.def Error: File `./SteadyLM-eps-converted-to
.pdf' not found: using draft setting.
Do appreciate if someone can help me with this. Many thanks.

You seem to have the current version of texlive. I think the epstppdf package is no longer necessary, pdflatex should be able to convert eps files automatically.

I have tried withrepstopdf --outfile=./SteadyLM-eps-converted-to.pdf SteadyLM.eps
in the directory directly. it can generate the pdf file. In this case, what should I add in the initial file of aquamacs to solve this?
