ubuntu 16.04 LTS crashed
I installed Ubuntu in my Asus k42f laptop (Intel Pentium inside processor) it was working good for an year or more.
Then i kept it turned off for some time. Today when I turn on the laptop, I couldn't see the lock-screen wallpaper. When I load the home screen it just black. nothing is there. i tried restarting several times. but it doesn't show any content on the screen. it was black and blank.

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! Can you run the live session on it? As the computer is not really new, I am suspecting a hardware issue.
