htaccess Redirect only works if I append a question mark to the end of resulting URL

0

This is a strange thing I have encountered and haven't been able to get it to work normally. No amount of looking for answers has helped

For example

Redirect 301 /privacy.html https://domain/company/privacy.html?

Works no problem but the question mark is still left in the URL bar and looks untidy.

The following

Redirect 301 /privacy.html https://domain/company/privacy.html

Does not work, and instead redirects to the custom error page via ErrorDocument

  • It may be a problem with the browser cache, can you try in an other one or in private mode (or other computer)
