Anaconda and Mininet dependency

I can install mininet from the ubuntu repository using sudo apt-get install mininet
.
After that the system pip shows a mininet package when using pip freeze
.
Therefore, using system python, I am able to import the mininet python API as import mininet
.
However, I find it useful to have an anaconda environment.
In my anaconda environment, pip freeze
does not show mininet.
However,
If I activate the conda environment conda activate myenv
and then run sudo apt-get install mininet
, it says that mininet is already installed.
So, how can I use the mininet python API with anaconda?
apt python-2.7 anaconda
