in my EXIM log I found rows having
A=dovecot_login:info@email.com
and rows having
A=dovecot_plain:info@emailtest.com
Which is the difference between dovecot_login and dovecot_plain , and are there other dovecot_ names ?
Thank you

These are names of authenticators, not keywords. Look in the 'authenticators' section of your exim.conf file. You'll find the definitions for 'dovecot_plain' and 'dovecot_login' there.
