Login & USB Issue

Last night I decided that changing to LTS 18.04 would be a better fit for me, I couldn't add the newly installed files so I asked for some help - I was told to format the USB and that's exactly what I did. I then transferred the new LTS files to the USB drive, then went to install it.
However, for some reason the option for it doesn't pop up it just says Ubuntu, Advanced options for Ubuntu and system setup which tells me it cannot detect my USB for some reason.
I tried going back to Ubuntu but when I login it only lasts for about 5 seconds then logs me out, I then tried going to recovery mode for Ubuntu and tried clean, dpkd and grub but there didn't seem to be any issues.
I don't know what to do with root so I left that alone - I tried logging in after that but had the same issue.
I then tried going to system setup, went to system diagnostics - ran the memory test and it passed, ran the Hard drive check both quick check and the extensive check and they both passed.
Tried looking at boot manager and tried the OS boot Manager Ubuntu option and it didn't do anything except bring me to the usual login screen where I tried to login only to get sent back to the login screen 5 seconds later.
Tried System Recovery and it changed nothing for me,
looked at BIOS setup and I don't think anything needs to be changed.
One thing that stood out very briefly is that I think it said something about not trusting a key - which is weird because USB boot is enabled (Pardon if this doesn't make sense, I'm new to all of this)
Needless to say I'm confused as what am I supposed to do?
When I bootup or turn it off I for example only see "ok" in green , I don't see any red marked errors and didn't fail any tests so it's difficult for me to search up any possible errors
Note- I'm not dual booting or anything like that
