I am new to Ask Ubuntu and Ubuntu in general.
I use ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

It all started with a problem with my printer. It was printing black using all the other colors and consuming too much ink. I tried to install hplip. I could not for some error. So I tried to install AMD Pro as a test, as it is made from some large and known company and such.

The installation failed and now I am experiencing trouble with installing just about anything. Ubuntu Software doesn't work and I can't install either ubuntu software center, Synaptic manager or TimeShift or anything that can help me.

I tried using

sudo apt - get install -f

sudo apt-get -f install

and lot of others that I have seen in other questions, but nothing seems to work.

i am thinking in using sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop or sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop

Solved... used sudo apt-get update and now sudo apt-get -f install seems to work, it removed AMD Pro.
Software update seems to work!

Thanks people, ask ubuntu helped.

My printer still doesn't work, i am afraid to mess with sudo, .run and .bin again...I will try using synaptic and/or ubuntu software center. Well if someone has any tips, it would be nice. Thanks again
