Make cite{myreference} show name followed by year in bracket

0

I am starting my paragraph as "According to cite{John2015}......" but I get "According to (John, 2015)....", I would like to have only the year in brackets but I can't get it right.

If you are really using biblatex-chicago, as your tag suggests, you are probably looking for textcite{John2015}.

  • The solution will depend on the bibliography package you use. Please show us which package and style you use in a short example document, a so-called MWE (tex.meta.stackexchange.com/q/228/35864 and tex.meta.stackexchange.com/q/4407/35864). You have tagged the question with biblatex-chicago and there textcite would be what you are looking for, but cite does not produce the output you describe (it would not produce parentheses) with that package, so it doubtful that you are actually using it.

  • Any news here? Please update your question with the relevant details (and an MWE). In its current state the question can't really be answered, because too many important details are unclear, and so I will vote to close as unclear what you are asking if the question is not edited in due time.
