Three.js; Geometry translation and panning interfering

0

I am facing an issue in three.js. Steps are documented in following code:

My steps are as follows:

var square = new THREE.Geometry(); //make a geometry
....and add points to geometry to make a square plane
var featureCentre = new THREE.Vector3();
square.boundingBox.getCenter(featureCentre);// get position of geomety
square.translate(....);// translate geometry to origin
var squareMaterial = new THREE.MeshBasicMaterial( { color: "#FF0000", side:
THREE.DoubleSide } );
var squareMesh = new THREE.Mesh(square, squareMaterial);// create mesh
var quaternion = new THREE.Quaternion(....);// create a quaternion
squareMesh.applyQuaternion(quaternion);// and apply it to mesh
// then move mesh to original position
squareMesh.position.x = featureCentre.x;
squareMesh.position.y = featureCentre.y;
squareMesh.position.z = featureCentre.z;

All this works as expected. But issue I am facing is that when I try to pan the scene, square doesn't pan and gets 'separated' from rest of the scene.

I am not able to figure out the reason.

Input is highly appreciated.

Edit: Another object created in same way but not translated doesn't give this issue. Also, rotating and zooming work fine.

Following images show the issue:
