Cut off content in listings that is too long

0

I am converting an md to a PDF. My listings contain both code and the repl output. The output is sometimes too long, so I just want to cut it off. However, I cannot find a switch that allows me to cut off content (i.e. ignore stuff past the 80 char boundary).

This is my config file for LaTeX:

lstset{
basicstyle=footnotesize,
numberstyle=footnotesize,
backgroundcolor=color{black!10},
showspaces=false,
showstringspaces=false,
showtabs=false,
captionpos=b,
breakatwhitespace=false,
breakautoindent=false,
linewidth=16cm
}

This is the ugly output I want to avoid by cutting off lines:

  • If you don't use syntax highlighting then you could consider using verbatim instead of lstlisting.
