Why Redis Sentinel Use Two Connections with Master

0

Currently, I am learning Redis with its source code. And I read a relative book which said that redis sentinel handle two connections with redis database, one is for command, another is for Pub/Sub.I feel doubted that why sentinel use two connections rather than one.

I know sentinel need Pub/Sub for some situation like discovering new slaves automatically. But can it do this in the same connection?
