showkeys as pdfnotes

I usually use the latex package showkeys in interactive mode: I just look up the pdf file on my screen (rather than printing it).

For this reason I would prefer that the labels produced by showkeys were just annotation on the pdf file, so that I could read them moving the cursor on the
desired object. This would also improve readability of in-line labels.

Does anybody know if this is possible?
