I wrote my thesis on Latex using overleaf but when I downloaded the pdf on my pc I found out that one of the images was left black with this error message on the reader:

error in the flux reading

The figure regularly appears when I look in DVI and the problem is just with the pdf. It's an image I took with my phone camera, in .jpeg format. I also tried to include this package in my document but I still see it black

usepackage{epstopdf}

May someone help me please?

    Do you compile with latex or pdflatex? Depending on which one you use, different file formats for images are supoorted. If you want to include jpeg or png, you need pdflatex
