Somehow, in my MacBook Pro, I inadvertently caused my Terminal Prompt default to change from Dea-MBP:/deafroggatt$ to Dea-MBP:/deafroggatt Deafroggatt$

when I send command in Terminal, cd ~/, the prompt returns to Dea-MBP:/deafroggatt$

How do I correct the default prompt in the Terminal program and is this current default causing other problems.

  • I am using Macbook Pro, OSX Mojave. I used Finder to unhide files and searched for .bashrc but could not locate this file.
