Ubuntu 16.04 text selected with touch-pad immediately become deselected

When selecting more than 1 line of text (anywhere: terminal, chrome, gedit etc.) it becomes deselected immediately when finger removed from touch-pad. If I hold finger on touch-pad approx. 1 second then text remains selected. This issue doesn't appear while using mouse.
